Route 422 connects southeastern Pennsylvania all the way from Hummelstown to King of Prussia, a span of 81 miles. Route 422 also has several notable junctions that creates productive transportation flow throughout the day. This highway is key for workers, travelers, students, and authorities to reach destinations in a timely manner.

Route 422 is known for its ongoing construction funded by both the federal and state government. According to PennDOT, the rehabilitation project includes a $73.3 million dollar general contract. These funds are fixing bridges and other structures along Route 422.

Route 422 crosses through the historic Valley Forge area, home to army encampments during the American Revolution. The biggest areas of construction here include restructuring bridges that cross over the Schuylkill River and the Schuylkill River Trail. In addition, this expansion includes one mile of road widening to manage traffic flow. Construction costs for this project are estimated to be up to $110 million for this portion of Route 422 renovations.

The twin spans located between exits Route 100 and Stowe are being combined into one fully-functioning bridge. The $36 million price tag includes new inclusive beam structures, widened lanes and shoulders, and other bridge construction necessities.

The closest Route 422 project to the CEG office is the Schuylkill River Bridge between exits to Sanatoga and Route 724. This project includes a new bridge with improved off-ramps to Armand Hammer Boulevard. The Schuylkill River Trail will feature a new section on the bridge. Costing $73.4 million, this project is expected to be completed in the near future to benefit both the local Pottstown community and Route 422 travelers.
